Multicultural Sonoma Wedding at Paradise Ridge and Trentadue
Every marriage represents not just the joining of two individuals, but two families, cultural backgrounds, and sets of traditions. Sanjana and Evan’s multicultural wedding at Trentadue Winery demonstrated just how beautiful that union can be! Set over an entire weekend in sunny Sonoma, the couple’s nuptials effortlessly blended Indian and Western wedding customs. As their full-service wedding planner, I helped them select venues for their sangeet and wedding day and ensured the flawless execution of both events.
Sangeet at Paradise Ridge Winery
Sanjana and Evan’s multicultural wedding weekend opened with a sangeet: a traditional Indian pre-wedding celebration filled with festive songs and dancing. Translating to “sung together” in English, the sangeet is a means for the bride and groom’s two families to gather and celebrate their union. We worked with Sanjana’s parents to plan the event at Paradise Ridge Winery, an elegant Sonoma venue with breathtaking views of wine country. They provided torans, potted succulents, and imported Indian linens that we incorporated into the décor, adding an authentic touch.
Splashes of vibrant color from the guests’ traditional Hindu attire and the florals created a celebratory atmosphere! We collaborated with the florist, Vanda Floral Design, to create a custom backdrop for the choreographed dances, complete with fragrant roses and dahlias, swaths of drapery, and citrus-colored torans. A cushioned ivory loveseat, courtesy of Encore Events Rentals, provided a place for the bride and groom to get cozy during the dancing.
A traditional Dhol drummer, a henna artist, and a DJ specializing in Punjabi and Bollywood music rounded out the stellar vendor team. Between visits to the dance floor and the food stations, which featured bespoke Indian cuisine from Kanteen, guests had plenty to do. They browsed a bazaar of handcrafted items from India to fill a custom canvas gift tote, every luxurious detail building anticipation for the wedding day.
Wedding at Trentadue Winery
While the sangeet celebrated Sanjana’s Indian heritage, the couple’s wedding day embraced Western traditions and aesthetics. Working closely with the bride and the team at Trentadue Winery, we planned a summer soiree that married the venue’s Tuscan influences with Sonoma’s laidback, “California-cool” energy. The color palette featured trendy pastels—ballet pink and butter yellow—and juicy citrus hues from the bridal party’s attire to the florals, executed masterfully by Vanda.
Dinner took place under the grape arbor on the north lawn, at one long, family-style table. As bistro lights twinkled overhead, each guest took their seat—marked by a lemon-shaped place card—to enjoy the farm-to-table menu prepared by Park Avenue Catering. With a clean design that layered crisp white linens, pops of green, and unstructured florals, the tablescape reflected the freshness of the meal and the lush, natural setting.
Before and after the meal, guests drifted between the Polaroid guestbook and the memory photo table, adorned with softly flickering candles and fresh lemons. The celebration’s sentimental sweetness carried into the cake-cutting ceremony, held in the Sala del Leone Pavilion. Sanjana and Evan shared a taste of the berry-topped treat, prepared by a close family friend, before sweeping onto the dance floor for their first waltz as husband and wife.
It was an incredible honor to plan Sanjana and Evan’s Sonoma wedding at Trentadue Winery. I’m filled with gratitude every time a couple trusts me to bring their vision to life! Kind Words from Sanjana and Evan
Ali is absolutely incredible and truly an expert in this industry. We had a multicultural, multi-day wedding that required a lot of planning and patience, and I can confidently say the wedding would not have been the same without her (and we probably would have lost our minds in the process). If you are looking for a planner who is organized, kind, and truly invested in bringing your vision to life, we cannot recommend Ali highly enough.
